*MY background*

I obtained my doctorate (PhD) from the University of Denver with a focus on rehabilitation/health psychology and young adults. I trained in community mental health settings, a college counseling and wellness center, and large metropolitan and Veterans Affairs medical centers. I have served a wide range of clients including adolescents, young adults, mid- and later-life adults, Veterans and military service members, and couples and families. I completed both my pre-doctoral internship residency and a two-year formal post-doctoral fellowship at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA. Throughout my training and into my career, I have conducted funded clinical research as an interventionalist - specifically in treatment development and evaluation. I was trained extensively in evidence-based psychotherapies for a wide-range of difficulties. I also have substantial training and expertise in suicide risk assessment and management, suicide-specific therapies, and therapeutic risk management consultation. I frequently present on the national level on research and best clinical practices, and have published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and textbook chapters.
